Ciwidey, a heaven for strawberry lover

Ciwidey is famous as one of West Java tourism place, not just because is a mountain range, where we get relax and breath fresh air, but also because of its strawberry farming. This post will brief about our family last trip experience to this lovely place.

The Route
Ciwidey situated on south area of Bandung, capital of Indonesia’s West Java province and about 200 miles aways from Jakarta’s International Airport Sukarno Hatta, best way we could get to reach Ciwidey is trough Cipularang toll road, we should take Kopo/Soreang exit and turn right, just follow the sign and within next 22 miles we should reach Ciwidey. Be aware of traffic on Kopo traditional market place, combo of it peak time, undisciplined driver and huge number of motor cycle will make our journey longer than our expectation.

The Cottage
One day would not be enough to to explore Ciwidey, lots of place that could be visited and they are all amazing. So it is advised to stop by at a cottage or resort and reserve a room or bungalow to sleepover there. Me and family choose to sleepover at a place called Kampung Strawberry, they offer regular room start from $20/night and $40/night for a bungalow with 1 bed room, with additional $20 you could get 2 bed room bungalow. Rate on other resort should be similar. Nice thing about this bungalow on Kampung Strawberry, they have fireplace on living room, so we can have a warmth time with all of our family while enjoying good sundanesse food and watching television. I can assure you, at Ciwidey you will find a nice spicy nasi timbel and a hot cup of bajigur are best combination to company your dinner.

Point of Interest
Once we reach Ciwidey, there are lots of place of interest we could visit, entry rate vary from $50 cent to $2/person. Those place of interest are:

Strawberry farming
Along the way when we reach Ciwidey, we would see lots of strawberry farming, they will offer us to grab our own strawberry directly from its tree. And its only cost you about $3/kilo of strawberry you pick. Do you know that strawberry farmer will have their harvest every 3 days?

Ciwidey White Crater
As we can see from its name, it’s a crate where covered by white color, around the create we can find lots of souvenir outlet that we can bought as gift for our colleague.

Rancabali Tea Plantation
Very nice landscape and good for family recreational destination, we can do a morning teawalk along the tea plantation and breath mountain fresh air, continue by take a natural hot spring bathing place, what a life …. Situ Patenggang, a nearby lake also a good place that we can explore within this plantation

Rancaupas
This place designated for camping, so if we bring tent along with us, it’s not a bad idea to stop by one night at this place. Rancaupas also well know for its deer husbandry.

Ranca Walini
Like Rancabali, Ranca Walini also offer recreational place where we could find bungalow, children playground and natural hot spring bathing place.
